We Remember Lucy

April 1, 1992 – January 27, 2012

Owner:  Margie King

Lucy was my baby from the moment she entered this world.  I was there the night she was born and I handpicked her from the litter immediately, I just loved her little two tone face.  Five weeks later I took her home with me and we spent the next 20 years together. She always showed her love to her family by spending hours laying in our laps or on our shoulders sleeping.  Lucy was very selective on who could pet her, she wasn’t overly fond of small children or strangers. We had many conversations throughout her life, it really seemed that she was talking to me.  I miss her so much, but I know that she is now across The Rainbow Bridge and she has rejoined her feline sister Baby and her canine brother Hooch, and they are all healthy and running freely together.  I know I will see you all again.  I love you.  Love, Mom

We Remember Bob

Bob was the first Maine coon that I’d ever had and he LOVED his “mama” with all his feline heart! If you haven’t had the experience of being family to one of these cats, you haven’t had a cat that truly believes you are family. He was passionately in love with me--he would spend incredible amounts of time expressing his affection by kneading my neck, rubbing my face with his, purring loudly, snuggling into my body, and looking at my husband with a very definite “I’ve got her and you don’t” look. (My hubby would give up in disgust and tell me that we needed to “get a room”.) Bob came to be his name--not kitty--and he knew his Mom would rescue him if the dogs got after him.

He never was an aggressive cat--he asked only for the other cats to play with him and seemed bewildered when they wouldn’t. Those huge paws could swipe down grasshoppers from incredible heights. No part of the barn was safe from his explorations. He lived life exuberantly-and I learned much from him.

We Remember Misty

August 15, 1994 - December 23, 2009

Misty was our best friend.  Misty was real funny.  She loved to play ruff -- the wilder the better!! She was always doing crazy things.  She hated getting her feet dirty.  Also she did not like to go out in the rain -- she had to have her rain coat on.  It was pretty funny to see a big dog in a yellow rain coat.  She was very loving and always giving kisses and just wanted to be next to you.  We miss her more than we should . . .

We would like to thank the employees at Dogwood for everything they did for Misty and our family.  Dan and Mandy Nelson

We Remember Millie

Millie

Dec. 17, 1996 - Aug. 16, 2009

Owners: Bonnie and John Wayne Stewart

Millie was, indeed, a special dog.  She could "talk" with her eyes and became an instant hit with kids and grandkids, even though she was older than all of our grandkids.  She not only shared her love and loyalty to me and my husband, but she also taught "the old man" that there are dogs in this world other than bird dogs!!  We will always cherish her memory and love her forever.

We Remember Mollie

Mollie

Mar. 15, 1997 - Aug. 16, 2009

Owners: Bonnie and John Wayne Stewart

Mollie was truly special. She only spoke with her eyes, rarely barking.  However, when she barked, you could tell it was Mollie because of her deep voice.  She was little - around 6 lbs., but was definitely not afraid of the largest of dogs. She would "charge" any intruders to her territory.  Mollie instantly became a member of the family, sharing her love and loyalty to all.  Saying goodbye to Mollie was very hard, but she remains in our hearts forever.

I wish to express our thanks to all of the staff at Dogwood for their excellent care, compassion and concern for our pets over the years. It is definitely hard to say goodbye to our little loved ones, but the pain is eased through your employees.  Many, many thanks to Wayne for his excellent care not only for Millie and Mollie, but all of our dogs throughout the years.  Our tears for Millie and Mollie are slowing down, and becoming tears of joy as we welcome our new puppy, Darcie.  Dogwood is not finished with us yet!!
